What is useful to tell us
If you have an active leak, tell us roughly where inside the house the water is showing up and whether it happens during heavy rain, during a lull after a storm, or seemingly at random. Those patterns point to different causes. A leak that shows up hours after the rain stops often points to something different than one that shows up the moment a downpour starts.
If the concern is moss, general roof condition, or planning ahead for a replacement, a description of the roof's age if you know it, along with how much tree cover the property has, gives us a useful starting picture before we even get on site.
What happens after that
We arrange a time to come look at the roof directly, on top and from the attic wherever access allows. From there you get a written scope describing what we found, what we recommend, and the options where more than one genuinely exists. We keep it in plain language so it is easy to compare against another quote if you want a second opinion.
If water is actively coming in
Move anything valuable out from under the drip and place a container to catch it. If the ceiling has started to bulge, a small controlled hole at the low point lets the water drain in one place rather than spreading across the drywall. Do not go up on a wet, mossy roof yourself to look for the source. That combination of moisture and moss makes for one of the more dangerous surfaces to walk on, and it is exactly the kind of call we handle.

Roofing and reroofing work runs through the drier stretches of the year where possible, with repairs and moss clearing handled year round, since a North Shore roof rarely gets a genuinely dry season to wait for.
